S&P Global 2024 Decentralized Finance Competition

Undergraduate students were presented with the question, “How can DeFi help close the wealth gap and ensure a future where everyone can participate in the global economy equitably?” Participating students attended learning sessions and responded to the challenge question with essays and video presentations. Two teams were selected as finalists and were invited to present their unique proposed solutions to S&P Global leadership. The Howard University team (Adisa Morgan, Ornel Djomo, Jacob Hanesworth, Oluwatobi Akande) proposed the winning solution: a microfinance strategy focused on blending lending, funding, and asset management services for low-income individuals.
